The SGOone Difference
More resources for scholarships.
More freedom for your mission.
Independent organizations. Transparent costs. Technology built around your mission.
Every Scholarship Granting Organization starts with a purpose: helping students access educational opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
SGOone was created around a simple belief: the technology that supports that purpose should make an SGO easier and more affordable to operate — not become one of its largest expenses.
We want to help more organizations get started, operate effectively, and grow while keeping control of their mission, their relationships, and their resources.
The 99% Efficiency Goal
Keep more. Accomplish more.
Our goal is to help independent Scholarship Granting Organizations retain at least 99% of the funds they raise after SGOone's standard platform fees. And we want that efficiency to improve as organizations grow.
SGOone's transaction pricing is based on the number of transactions, not a percentage of donation dollars. As fundraising grows, larger donation totals don't automatically result in proportionally larger technology fees.
We believe great technology should empower organizations to do more with the resources they have. Our commitment extends beyond financial efficiency. We're building connected workflows, practical automation, and comprehensive operational tools to reduce routine administrative work so SGOs can spend more time serving students, families, donors, and their communities.
Financial Efficiency
- Our objective is to keep standard SGOone platform fees below 1% of donations under representative operating scenarios.
- Clear, published pricing.
- No percentage-based SGOone platform fee.
- Greater fundraising volume can reduce relative platform costs, depending on transaction activity and plan choices.
- More flexibility for the SGO's remaining operating resources.
Operational Efficiency
- Minimize repetitive administrative work.
- Connect donations, applications, scholarship processes, reporting and organizational workflows.
- Use thoughtful automation while preserving appropriate human oversight.
- Help smaller SGOs operate professionally without requiring large administrative teams.
- Support sustainable growth without unnecessary complexity.
Built to be affordable from the beginning. Designed to become even more cost-efficient as you grow.
The larger your impact becomes, the smaller the relative cost of your technology can become.
Your organization retains control of its mission, donor relationships, governance and resources. More funding flexibility. Less administrative burden. Greater opportunities for growth.
90% — Federal Scholarship Requirement
Under IRC §25F, qualifying SGOs are subject to a minimum 90% scholarship expenditure requirement, calculated under applicable statutory and regulatory rules. This is not an automatic 90/10 split of each donation. Review the requirement and proposed measurement rules.
99% — SGOone's Technology Efficiency Goal
We aim to leave at least 99% of donations available to the organization after standard SGOone platform fees under representative scenarios. This is a technology-cost objective, not a federal compliance standard or a promise that 99% will be awarded as scholarships.
Different measurements, different purposes. Remaining after SGOone fees excludes third-party payment processing, staffing and administration, legal, accounting and compliance expenses, optional services outside the modeled pricing, and other organizational costs. The 99% goal is not an unconditional guarantee. Actual percentages vary with usage, subscriptions, optional services and transaction patterns; it does not mean 99% of administrative work is automated.
01 / The 90% commitment
Scholarships come first. Every operating dollar matters.
Under Section 25F, qualifying Scholarship Granting Organizations must spend at least 90% of their income on scholarships for eligible students, subject to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
That creates an important responsibility for every SGO.
The resources available for administration must support everything else required to operate responsibly: people, technology, accounting, compliance, donor relationships, communications, and more.
This is not an automatic 90/10 split of each donation. The calculation depends on applicable income, account treatment, timing and regulatory requirements. Read the statutory requirement and October 2026 proposed measurement rules.
Make operating resources go further.
At SGOone, we believe those resources should go as far as possible.
Our goal is to help you spend less on the mechanics of operating an SGO so you have greater flexibility to invest in the things that matter to your organization.
That might mean stronger outreach to families, better donor engagement, professional support, improved operations, or the people needed to grow your scholarship program.
The decision should belong to your organization, within applicable legal and financial requirements.
02 / Clear, predictable pricing
You should know what your technology costs.
There are different approaches to funding scholarship-management technology. Some providers use subscriptions, some use transaction-based fees, and others combine technology with broader scholarship administration services.
Each approach may serve a different purpose. SGOone takes a straightforward approach.
Start free. Choose the services you need. Understand what you pay.
- Free Basic account: Begin preparing your organization without a software subscription.
- Proposed affordable monthly plans: Plan for additional operational capabilities as your SGO develops.
- Proposed straightforward transaction pricing: $1.00 per qualifying incoming donation or outgoing scholarship disbursement transaction.
- No percentage-based SGOone platform fee in the proposed pricing: Your software transaction fee does not increase simply because someone makes a larger donation.
- Processing costs disclosed separately: Third-party payment processing charges are separate from SGOone's transaction fees.
- Optional services: Choose additional capabilities and hands-on assistance when you need them.
Plan ahead with published pricing.
Our published pricing helps you plan ahead rather than guess what your technology costs might become as fundraising grows.
Pricing is preliminary and subject to change. Paid plans will only be available once the applicable rules are finalized. No charges will be made without advance notice. Creating an account is free.
Payments currently remain simulated; no real money moves through the Workbench. This page describes our approach and planning prices, not activation of payment services.
Applicable subscription, transaction, payment processing, and optional service costs are detailed on our pricing page.
Review Our Complete Pricing →03 / Built for efficiency
Less administrative friction. More time for the mission.
An SGO has substantial responsibilities, regardless of its size.
Receiving contributions, managing applications, coordinating with schools, issuing scholarships, maintaining records, preparing reports, and documenting compliance all require attention.
SGOone is designed to bring these activities together in a connected platform.
Our focus is on helping organizations:
- Reduce repetitive administrative work.
- Keep donor, student, school, and scholarship information organized.
- Maintain clearer financial records and reporting.
- Coordinate processes without unnecessary duplication.
- Use automation thoughtfully while preserving human review and accountability.
- Scale operations without technology costs increasing simply in proportion to donations collected.
Operational efficiency isn't just about saving money. It's about helping an organization accomplish more with the people and resources available to it.
04 / Independence matters
Your SGO. Your mission. Your decisions.
Some scholarship programs are designed around participation in a larger organization or network. That can be an appropriate solution for many communities.
SGOone was designed with a different goal in mind.
We want to help people establish and operate their own independent Scholarship Granting Organizations.
Your organization defines its mission, establishes its policies, develops its donor relationships, and directs its scholarship programs within applicable law.
SGOone provides supporting technology, guidance, and operational tools.
Different communities. Different needs.
We believe choosing an affordable software platform should allow your organization to maintain its independence and make the decisions that best serve its mission.
And we recognize that every community is different.
Some communities may need greater access to independent schools. Others may benefit from scholarship support for particular educational programs or services, where permitted by law.
Different communities have different needs. Independent SGOs can focus their efforts accordingly.
05 / Start small. Grow with purpose.
Professional tools shouldn't require a large starting budget.
One of SGOone's primary objectives is to lower the practical barriers to establishing new Scholarship Granting Organizations.
A small, volunteer-led SGO should have access to useful tools without paying for enterprise-scale infrastructure.
As that organization develops, its technology should be able to grow alongside it.
A practical place to begin.
We want SGOone to be a practical choice for an individual exploring an idea, a newly established community organization, or an experienced SGO managing substantial scholarship activity.
Our Founding Cohort and formation resources are also intended to help new organizers navigate the work involved in getting started.
Explore the Founding Cohort →06 / A simple principle
Every dollar you don't need to spend on technology is a dollar you can put to work elsewhere.
It might support better administration. It might help reach another family. It might strengthen fundraising, professional oversight, or future organizational growth.
And where appropriate, an SGO may choose to direct additional resources toward scholarships.
We believe great technology should empower organizations to do more with the resources they have.
That's why we're committed to building a platform that's accessible, affordable, and designed around the real operational needs of independent SGOs.
Our vision is to help organizations of every size operate with confidence, grow sustainably, and make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.
The more efficiently an SGO can operate, the more possibilities it can create for the students, families, and communities counting on it.
Build something meaningful. Keep control of what you create.
Whether you're exploring your first SGO or looking for a more practical way to operate an existing one, SGOone is designed to support your mission without unnecessary complexity or expense.
The Formation Journey requires an account. Still exploring? Start with free founder preparation resources.
SGOone is a technology and organizational support platform, not a government agency or a guarantee of federal or state SGO approval. Organizations remain responsible for their own legal, tax, financial, and operational compliance. Section 25F spending requirements depend on applicable law and regulatory guidance.
